Bethany Trowers – Director, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, & Small/Petite Ballet Instructor
Bethany began dancing at the age of three and has trained in many styles including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, and modern. Through her years training, Bethany was a competitive dancer winning many overall high scoring and special awards for outstanding technique and stage presence, in group and solo performances. During high school Bethany was also a National Cheerleading Association All-star, and a COA National Champion. Bethany graduated from New York University with a major in history and minor in law & society. While at NYU she was a member of the school’s step team, One Step Ahead, and Pulse Dance Project dance team, with Tisch School of the Arts. She continues to study at Steps On Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, and numerous conventions throughout the tri-state area. She is Level III certified with Dance Educators of America, and her choreography has won many overall high scoring, and special awards. Bethany is passionate about pushing her students to their highest potential and sharing her love of dance with them.
Eugene Choe – Breakdance Instructor
Eugene is a full-time dancer and travels the U.S. as an educator, competitor, judge, trainer, performer, party motivator, and most important a student of bboying/breakdancing. After traveling over 150 cities and sitting at the dinner tables with his best friends ( the best bboys in the world/ world champions), He has gathered information that can turn a passionate person into an excellent dancer. He has also taught on behalf of universities such as Cornell, Purdue, James Madison, NYU, etc. Eugene has a great set of skills working with kids between the age of 6-14. Recently a student he mentors has been featured on So You Think You Can Dance making it to 50 out over 3400 kids! Eugene worked at a day care center in Jersey City as a dance instructor, and also motivates kids at their birthday parties playing games, teaching them breakdance. He educates tourists the history of breaking as a collaboration with HUSH Tours. On HUSH Tours, Grand Master CAZ. Eugene is also affiliated with the Legendary Dynamic Rockers. Dynamic Rockers are the originators of moves such as HEADSPINS, HAND GLYDES, and the SPIDER FREEZE.
Lisa Garino – Acro Instructor
Lisa Garino has been teaching acrobatics, artistic gymnastics, cheerleading, and many styles of dance for more than 15 years at studios and gyms all over New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, North Carolina, and Florida. She studied dance and acrobatics at Broadway Dance Center and Steps On Broadway in New York, trained in gymnastics at multiple gyms, and continued her studies in dance and theater at Montclair State University. Though she greatly enjoys performing, Lisa finds it much more rewarding to teach recreational dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading classes and to coach competitive teams. Her group pieces and solos have received special awards and many of her students have gone on to perform professionally. Lisa gives every student as much one-on-one attention as possible, accentuating their strengths, and helping each student accept and improve upon their weaknesses. Miss Lisa enforces basics and fundamentals, a strong foundation on which to build proper technique upon. She uses positivity and a sense of humor to connect with and motivate her students, and often uses the class’s lessons as a metaphor for important life lessons. In her spare time, Lisa studies psychology, which has been a huge asset in her teaching career.
Shannon Grant – Ballet Instructor
Shannon Grant is a professional dancer who has performed throughout the United States and internationally with companies including Ballet de Printemps, City Ballet of San Diego, Ballet New England, Media City Ballet, BalaSole, Ballet Magique, David Taylor Dance Theatre, Scottish American Ballet and in the Ovation award winning musical Shag With a Twist. Shannon danced in music videos for bands including Velvet Revolver, Avenged Sevenfold, Dame Fortune and more as well as in commercials and fashion shows. Original roles have been choreographed for her in the “Cellist”, “Mystique”, “First Bitten” and “Shake” in the Ovation Award winning musical “Shag With a Twist”. She has attended many programs including Joffrey, New York, the Vagonova Festival, Colorado Ballet, Rotaru International, Balllet Intensive from Moscow, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, Fairbanks Fine Arts Festival, San Diego Ballet, and the Salzburg Ballet of Austria. Shannon began her ballet training as a young girl with Anatoly Sisman and additional training with Linda Yourth in San Diego; later with Marat Daukayev and Hasmik Amirian in Los Angeles; and after moving to New York, she continued her training with Kirill Matveev, and currently trains at Steps on Broadway and Ballet Arts. Although Shannon’s first love is performance, she enjoys sharing her knowledge of dance through teaching both children and adult ballet classes. She has taught ballet in Los Angeles and New York. She graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor’s in American Studies and holds an Associates with Honors in Business Administration.
Shar Adrias – HipHop Instructor
Shar has been dancing in her living room since she was 12. She began training professionally at broadway dance center at the late age of 19. Her stage credits include KTU’s beatstock, Ryan leslie promo tour, and the VMA’s with Ludacris. Her choreography for music video include Jenn Cuneta and Punjabi artist G-deep featuring Capadonna of Wu Tang Clan. She also edited numerous videos for G-Deep, including “Nach Le” as she owns her own production company as well. She also shot and edited Japanese recording artist Jonte’s “Ya Rude.” Shar won an award for best hip hop choreographer in Westchester. Her 2011 piece, “numb” won best choreographer in local competition as well as nationals.
