Bethany Trowers Owner / Tap Jazz Lyrical Leap&Turn Instructor
Bethany began dancing at the age of three and has trained in many styles including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, and modern. Through her years training, Bethany was a competitive dancer winning many overall high scoring and special awards for outstanding technique and stage presence, in group and solo performances. During high school Bethany was also a National Cheerleading Association All-star, and a COA National Champion. Bethany graduated from New York University with a major in history and minor in law & society. While at NYU she was a member of the school’s step team, One Step Ahead, and Pulse Dance Project a student run dance team, within Tisch School of the Arts. She continues to study at Steps On Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, and numerous conventions throughout the tri-state area. She is Level III certified with Dance Educators of America, and her choreography has won many overall high scoring, and special awards. Bethany is passionate about pushing her students to their highest potential and sharing her love of dance with them.
Georgia Teperikidou Ballet Instructor
Georgia Teperikidou first began her artistry in dance at the age of four studying at The Center for Ballet in Thessaloniki, Greece. After graduating with a BFA in Dance, with a major in Ballet, from The Professional Dance School in Thessaloniki, Greece, she moved to New York to continue her professional career in dance. While in New York, she attended Dance Space Center where she studied ballet, modern, jazz (Simonson Technique), and Pilates. In 2002, she enrolled in the yearlong program in Laban Movement Studies at the Laban Institute of Movement Studies in New York. After a year devoted to exploring, analyzing and experimenting with diverse movement techniques, Mrs. Teperikidou received certification in Movement Analysis and Notation.
Her continuous pursuit to obtain a well-rounded dance education led her to attend New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education to earn a Master’s Degree in Dance Education with a concentration in Higher Education. Mrs. Teperikidou constantly strives to further her education, strengthen her teaching techniques, and expand upon her knowledge. She has attended teachers’ workshops at The National Ballet School of Canada and American Academy of Ballet. This past summer, Mrs. Teperikidou attended The Zena Rommet Floor Barre Teacher Certification Workshop and had the privilege and honor to study with the originator of the technique, Zena Rommett. Furthermore, Mrs. Teperikidou is a certified New York City Ballet Workout Instructor. After an extensive international performing career, Mrs. Teperikidou is focusing on her growing passion for teaching. Mrs. Teperikidou is currently a Teaching Artist at The American Ballet Theater’s outreach educational program entitled “Make a Ballet,” as well as City Center’s“Young People’s Dance Series.”
Janette Rawls Ballet Instructor
Janette had her early training at Dance Moves in Minnesota from Laura McClanahan. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University where she studied under Ravenna Tucker, Stephen Wynne, Britta Wynne, Cynthia Newland, Laura Morton and many other wonderful teachers. During her college years, she performed a variety of works by faculty members and guest choreographers including Thera Ward and Steve Rooks. She furthered her education with summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre and the American Dance Festival including master classes with David Howard, Leslie Brown, Gerri Houlihan, David Dorfman, and Lisa Race. In addition to her dance studies, she worked on technical crews for Pilobolus, Martha Graham Dance Company, Jose Limon Dance Company, and Paul Taylor Dance Company as a stagecraft apprentice. In Kansas City, Janette danced professionally with Stӧrling Dance Theater in the large productions Underground and The Little Match Girl as well as in several smaller shows with the company. In Houston, Janette performed solo and ensemble roles with Earthen Vessels: Sandra Organ Dance Company for shows including Si Se Puede, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Mothers of Movement, and Sacred Dances. Janette also appeared as a guest artist with FrenetiCore, Jhon Stronks, and in several commercial dance and modeling projects with Dance Houston. In 2009, she produced her first dance show, Seeing, in the Minnesota Fringe Festival. In 2013, she co-founded Emotions Physical Theatre with her husband Shawn and serves as the administrative director and occasionally as a dancer. Janette has over eight years of teaching experience including teaching at the collegiate level, for summer intensives, and in performing arts schools. She is certified in Stott® Pilates and holds an ABT® National Training Curriculum teacher certification in primary through level three.
Shar Adrias HipHop Instructor
Shar has been dancing in her living room since she was 12. She began training professionally at broadway dance center at the late age of 19. Her stage credits include KTU’s beatstock, Ryan leslie promo tour, and the VMA’s with Ludacris. Her choreography for music video include Jenn Cuneta and Punjabi artist G-deep featuring Capadonna of Wu Tang Clan. She also edited numerous videos for G-Deep, including “Nach Le” as she owns her own production company as well. She also shot and edited Japanese recording artist Jonte’s “Ya Rude.”
Shar won an award for best hip hop choreographer in Westchester. Her 2011 piece, “numb” won best choreographer in local competition as well as nationals.
Christina Hernandez Acro/Tumbling Instructor
Christina ‘Nina’ Hernandez is a cheerleading/tumbling aficionado committed to improving and teaching her students elite cheer and tumble skills, while fostering teamwork and self confidence. She has 15 years of experience as a cheerleader, from Pop Warner to All-Star, and has coached a senior award-winning all-star squad for three seasons. Christina continues to teach tumbling classes at cheer, gymnastics, dance and school facilities throughout the state. Founder of Rah Rah Routines (rahrahroutines.com) she is a seasoned cheer choreographer for reputable recreation, high school, and all-star teams in the tri-state area and is a member of the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators, USASF and NFHS. She believes the fundamentals of cheerleading and tumbling are the key to excellence.
