BT DanceCompany Offers Classes In:

Ballet combines grace, line and beauty to provide the technical foundation for all dance forms.

  • BT DanceCompany is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 3 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Georgia Teperikidou, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3. Coming this fall 2013!

Tap rhythms are sounded out by the clicking taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes.

Jazz class uses elements of ballet and modern dance set to popular music.

Lyrical combines the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom, fluidity, expressiveness and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance.

HipHop class mixes funk and street dance styles to create fun and freestyle movement.

Acro class teaches floor tumbling and acrobatic skills which can be incorporated into dance.

Leap&Turn class focuses on teaching the technical aspect of turns, leaps and other dance essentials.

*Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and is essential in developing strong technical dancers.  Therefore we strongly recommend that all jazz and lyrical students add ballet to their schedules.

**Acro and Leap&Turn are technique classes, and do not participate in the year end showcase. These classes should be paired with a jazz or lyrical class as the elements learned in these classes will be incorporated into the jazz/lyrical dances.

COMPETITION!

Our Competition Program is geared toward the serious student who wants to take their dancing to the next level and be part of a team.  Interested dancers must be willing to commit to intensive training 3-5 days per week (depending on age) as well as participate in five competition/convention weekends between February and May.  In addition to the extra class time and travel required, there are extra costs associated with being a part of the team.  This includes competition and convention fees as well as extra costume fees.

Company dancers will work hard and push their limits! They will improve technically and performance wise.  They will also learn lessons in teamwork, commitment, winning and losing gracefully, as well as build lifelong friendships!

Dance experience is required.  Petites (Grade K-1) and Minis (Grade 2-3) limited experience is required.  Acceptance to Company is based on performance in an evaluation class.

If interested, please speak with Bethany for more detailed information.
